Seahawks S Earl Thomas Hugs Referee After Fumble-Return TD, Gets Flagged | Bleacher Report

I had been reading many NFL fans who say that it’s not just the disrespect for the flag that is bothering them, but the overzealous, politically correct reaction to all celebrations. Well, hugging a ref is punishable by a flag too, lol. Video included, though the hug was maybe a bit much, a flag?:

he NFL is cracking down on celebrations, so hugging a referee after a fumble-return touchdown probably isn’t a good idea.
Don’t tell Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas.
After taking a New Orleans Saints fumble to the house in the first quarter Sunday, the Legion of Boom member embraced an official and was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

As long as I’ve been watching football, I’ve never actually seen a player hug a ref before. I get the sense that would have drawn a flag of some sort even back in the 70s.
