Absolutely Amazing!

**LOS ANGELES — Skydiver Luke Aikins has become the first person to jump from a plane into a net on the ground without the benefit of a parachute.

Aikins hit the 100-by-100-foot net perfectly, quickly climbed out of it and walked over to hug his wife, who had been watching with other family members.

Just before climbing into a plane to make the jump, Aikins said he had been ordered to wear a parachute but indicated he wouldn’t open it.

As the plane was climbing to 25,000 feet above the drop zone he said the requirement had been lifted and he took off the chute.

He fell for about two minutes, then flipped onto his back at the last second and landed perfectly to cheers from those gathered to watch.

I’m a “wuffo” about this. "Wuffo would any sane person DO such a stupid thing?

I wouldn’t even jump out of a plane with a parachute on, much less without one. Heck now that I don’t have to I also won’t fly anymore.

#4

I’ve jumped with a parachute (not that I’d do it again), but I wouldn’t even consider jumping without one…or watching some other idiot do so for that matter.

While he jumped w/o and landed in a net, ok, fine, what exactly did he prove? Is the world a better place all of a sudden? Is this a procedure we can now use and forget our chutes or can we save a life?

The reality is he just got his 15 min of fame, now go away and don’t come back until you dream up some other stupid stunt…

Haven’t seen anything like this since Evel Knievel doing his monster jumps. Daredevils who are worth their salt don’t come along very often.
