All paid for with money the Federal reserve created with some computer entries. I wonder the bonds the government sold to the Federal Reserve are printed on paper?

Get ready to have a currency that is like Zimbabwe. It’s one thing to help Americans during this crisis. It’s another to load up every variety of pork that one can imagine in the bill. As the Democrats say, “Never let a crisis go to waste!”

It will interesting to see what the Democrats will do to fix the crisis when the value of the dollar collapses. The solution will be simple. Sell more bonds to the Fed and create more money.

Paper costs money to produce so probably not. We need to conserve as much paper/money as possible because those LGBT kids in Dubai really need our help

Trump wants $2000 per person, $1400 higher than the current plan.

Sounds like a great idea. And you guys say I never give Trump any credit.

Might as well make it 10 thousand per person. And give another 1 million to each and every person living in Belize because why not.

Head hurt, take 2 Advil, heck why not take 10? No, make it 100!

Our government has been burning money at an unprecedented rate - the outrageous giveaways listed by silliessis above is a slap in the face to every American. I can’t fault Trump for not signing the bill, but . . .

But, I have to ask - Was Trump not being informed what was being put together in this so-called stimulus bill? If not, we have been witness to one of the most extraordinary example of political malpractice of all time. On the other hand, if he was being informed and allowed the bill to come to his desk anyway before raising hell about what it contained, his action is an example of personal political malpractice. I would like an answer from him.

People can disagree about what the bill does or does not contain; even about the need for a bill at all. But allowing people and businesses to come to expect a bill offering relief from government imposed turmoil and then, at the last minute, threatening to walk away and helicoptering to Maralago to play golf, is ridiculous.

At the very beginning and at strategic points during this months-long process, Trump should have taken his finger off Twitter and made national, highly advertised, public TV addresses directly to the people making it perfectly clear the parameters of what he would find acceptable to be contained in any such bill.

IMHO - Trump made far too few national TV addresses directly to the American people during his presidency. Rallies might have been entertaining, but it is likely they brought out few people beyond his base.

Addressing a broader issue, one is left to wonder if or how this latest development surrounding the pandemic and it’s personal economic impact/ “stimulus bill” fallout will have on the Senate races in Georgia. Frankly, I’m sure your guess is as good as mine.

Don’t forget that this bill was crafted in no small part under the leadership of Nancy “we have to pass it to find out what’s in it” Pelosi. Most of the legislators who voted on it and for it didn’t know most of the crap that was in it.

The trouble is Trump and the Republicans will be blamed when the Covid money does not go out. That might be the last two nails in the Republican coffin in the Georgia Senate races.

I can’t believe how far left Georgia has gone. It’s like California East and could have two senators who are a bad as anything the Golden State has sent to Congress. If those two socialists win, Hunter Biden will continue to be able to run his kick-back business and will probably get away with the $400,000 he failed to report on his income tax. For the average citizen, you get whacked big time for not reporting $4,000.

Trump never did use the presidential address to the people, which can be far more effective than Twitter. Now he’s acting like a vengeful child. He should sign the bill and be done with it. He’s a lame duck and any further actions at this time will make no difference.

The Georgia Senate races are what really matter now, not Trump. He’s history.

Fantasy Chaser - you are correct, members of Congress did not know what the bill contained. But, on the other hand, Trump had his emissary/negotiator, Steven Mnuchin, smack dab in the middle of the meetings that produced this debacle. It is hard to believe he didn’t know and even harder to believe he did not share this information with Trump. Perhaps Trump has a strategy intended to force the hand of members of his own party to agree to more cash in the form of direct payments - or perhaps it is Trump being petulant on his way out the door. Who knows?

Pelosi had the Covid Bill filled with pork when her plan called for over two trillion in spending. Is it any surprise that it was still filled with pork in its slimmed down version?

One of the reasons why people have such a low regard for Congress is bills like this. You start with an issue, Covet relief, which a large majority of the people support, and add a great deal more spending to it that is totally unrelated to the core issue. These revisions are often very unpopular, but Congressional procedures are such that you have to vote for the garbage to get the popular cause passed.

The only solution to this would be to “throw the bums out,” but very few seats are contested. When I lived in Massachusetts, the no good, do nothing for his district, Democrat congressman from my district, was usually unopposed. I left the ballot blank.

Sendgop - you are precisely correct. None of us should have been surprised by this “pork pile”; that would include Trump. All the more reason for him to have made his demands to the contrary crystal clear by way of national addresses.

Welcome to the new USA. The left has won. Stupid people greatly outnumber intelligent people.

Expect every state to move further and further left. Nobody even knows who Hunter Biden is, and if he’s not putting out hot videos on tik tok nobody cares.

Yep, as we pass from the scene, the programmed college and high school students, and the high school drop outs will take over. Their lives will get worse, and the prospects for their children will dim. Their only solution will be more government control.

Conversely the ruling class in Washington and their kids and family members will get wealthier. They will do what they please and throw a few crumbs to the rabble in an effort to keep them quiet. Ultimately the minions will rise up when things get bad enough, but they won’t realize that freedom would be their salvation. They will view violence as the only solution.

Phase One will be the open border. Caravans of illegals are on their way shouting “Biden! Biden!” They will arrive here carrying more Covid. Watch them go to the front of the line to get the vaccine. My wife and I are both over 65 and have no immediate prospects for getting it. If we die, that will be two less Republicans, which is what the left wants. It won’t be necessary to send us to one of AOC’s retraining centers.

why do you only care about the deficit now that trump was booted by the voters??

And somehow they’ll find some legal way to retro-impeach Trump so that he was never a president at all. Because that will solve everything.

Why do you assume we didn’t? I cared about the deficit (and more particularly, the debt) back when the Bill of Wrongs was President, and I never stopped. I never thought these huge stimulus handouts was a good idea.
